Dr. Habashi has extensive experience working with the aerospace industry. His presentation will examine what industry needs from the relationship in order for it to be mutually productive and satisfying.

LITHOPROBE is Canada's national earth science research project, investigating the 3-dimensional structure and evolution of Canada's landmass and continental margins through collaborative, multi disciplinary studies. Dr. Clowes will discuss the factors necessary for effective communication between partners in a joint research effort, and achieving outcomes satisfactory to each partner.

Prof. Fortier was the leader of a multinational, multi disciplinary program to study Polynyas (an area of open water in sea ice). He will discuss the complexities, challenges and advantages of establishing and operating international research partnerships.

Mary L. Good (photo) Venture Capital Investors and Donaghey University Professor, University of Arkansas
Prof. Good is a distinguished scientist who has held a succession of prestigious positions in academia, industry and government. Her career includes four years as Under Secretary for Technology in the United States Department of Commerce, several years as Senior Vice President of Technology for AlliedSignal Inc., and two terms on the United States National Science Board. She is currently a venture capitalist and Interim Dean, College of Information Science and Systems Engineering, University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her accomplishments have been recognized through more than 20 honorary doctorates, a dozen medals and a comparable number of other awards.
