PLACE:

The 2004 Annual PAGSE Meeting provided an opportunity for
federal politicians, government department, agency and private
sector representatives to meet fifteen of Canada’s top
young outstanding scientists and engineers. The expertise
of these researchers covers natural and social sciences, engineering
and medicine; they represent universities, colleges and research
institutes across Canada. The day’s program included
a roundtable discussion with agency heads on Canada’s
future in science and technology; an address by, and dialogue
with, Dr. Arthur Carty, the National Science Advisor; a session
on working with the media and a reception on Parliament Hill,
which highlighted all of the researchers & their work.
Three delegates briefly explained their work and described
how it is raising Canada’s research profile and confirms
the value of the Government’s research investments.
